Solidworks Automation

September 5, 2016

Solidworks macros are an awesome way to reduce or eliminate repetitive tasks. They work by running a series of commands from a pre recorded script.

Unfortunately it's often not as simple as pressing record, running through the sequence and having it play back as expected or sometimes even at all...  Fortunately! writing code and the nerdy nature at Rubix goes hand in hand with each other and we can write an automated solidworks function in no time.

We have written macros that talk across Solidworks to Excel spreadsheets, databases and even websites. Here are some examples of our work.

Purchasing Spreadsheet builder from BOM's/Cutlist

Import all bodies from part onto drawing

If there's a Solidworks task or even a windows task that you could do without then get in touch with us and let's see how we can eliminate the hum bug.
